Why Women Need to Sleep to Reduce Belly Fat
As a woman you cannot afford to ignore the buildup of belly fat. When you are younger you probably did not think of belly fat, but as you approach menopause, you are going to discover that your fat seems to be shifting from your arms and shoulders and settling into your stomach. If you do not take steps to reduce belly fat, you are putting yourself at risk to develop some serious health problems that include heart disease, breast cancer, and diabetes.
The two most effective ways to reduce belly fat are through intense exercise programs that are designed to burn fat and boost your metabolism, as well as making some serious changes to your diet. In order of either of these things to truly help, you are going to have to come up with a exercise and diet plan and stick to it. No matter how good your diet is or how carefully you have constructed your exercise program, you will not reduce belly fat if you do not get enough sleep.
You have probably spent at least half of your life hearing that it is important for you to get a good night’s sleep. The chances are pretty good that you even know that when you do not get a good night’s sleep, the world can be a very difficult place to deal with. What you might not know is that if you do not get a good night’s sleep, you make it harder for you to shed your belly fat.
It is easy for a person to think that if they are going to lose their excess belly fat, that they need to be active, and since you lay still while sleeping, they tend to sleep as little as possible. This usually turns into a big mistake. The reality is that sleep is a crucial part of weight loss and to reduce belly fat that you are currently carrying around.
Your body naturally produces a chemical that is called cortisol. During the day, when you are awake, the level of cortisol in your body steadily increases. Its purpose is to help your body create the energy needed to reduce belly fat and help you lose weight. If you do not fall into a deep sleep, the way that the cortisol works changes and instead of creating energy it actually starts to create belly fat instead.
If you are unable to enjoy several hours of deep sleep each night, you are going to find that in addition to being unable to reduce belly fat, you are also going to increase the chances that you will develop heart disease or suffer a severe stroke. Insufficient sleep causes your arteritis and blood vessels to harden.
When you go to sleep at night, it is very important that you give yourself every opportunity to fall into a deep sleep which is the most beneficial. Make sure that you have at least five hours to devote to sleeping and that you have not eaten for at least three hours previous to going to bed.
